IN OUR WORSHIP:

We are an inclusive community, a family of faith, which through prayer, song and sacraments seeks to draw closer to God, give thanks and praise to God, and seek forgiveness from God in order to grow in discipleship.

IN OUR  CHRISTIAN EDUCATION: 

We seek to be a community of people with a mature Christian faith that leads us to care for others by opening our hearts to service, and an evolving faith that grows through thoughtful listening and fearless questioning.  Our education is for all ages and takes place both inside and outside the church.

          IN OUR WITNESS:

We seek to share the excitement of our Christian faith without judging others.  We take seriously as our own Christ's commission to go forth and share the Good News, striving to do so in word and deed both locally and globally.

OUR BELIEFS

We believe that Jesus Christ, Son of God and Savior, is the sole head of the church. 

We believe that everyone who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior is our sister or brother in Christ.

We look to the word of God as attested in the Scriptures for our understanding of the Good News of Jesus Christ and as the foundation for all statements of faith.

We believe that the Bible, though written in specific historical times and places, still speaks to us in our present condition because God is a still-speaking God.

We believe that the study of Scripture is not limited by past interpretations but that, through the power of the Spirit, it can provide new insights and help for living today.

We believe in testimonies of faith rather than tests of faith.  Because faith can be expressed in many different ways, the UCC has no formula that is a test of faith.  The UCC does have a Statement of Faith that can be viewed at:  www.ucc.org/beliefs/  faith.html. 

We believe in the priesthood of all believers in that all members of the UCC are called to minister to others and to participate as equals in the common worship of God, each with direct access to the mercies of God through personal prayer and devotion.

We celebrate two sacraments:  Baptism, primarily infant but also believer's baptism at the request of the candidate; and the Lord's Supper (Holy Communion), where, at an open table, everybody is welcome--without  exception.  We celebrate communion each Sunday.

We are a church that is intentionally united and uniting, multiracial and multicultural, accessible to all abilities, open and affirming without exception, inviting and celebrating with great joy, and an advocate for peace with justice in a loving world.
